Integrated Project Management Company, Inc. (IPM) has been named among the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts by The Boston Globe. Though IPM is based in Burr Ridge, Ill., its Boston office team is large enough to qualify for the list.
“We are pleased to be recognized in one of our regional offices because it speaks both to our consistent growth, which goes well beyond our corporate home, and to the strength of our values-based culture,” says IPM President and CEO C. Richard Panico. “The Boston office has strong leaders, yes. But like the rest of the IPM family, its true strength lies in its team members, who support each other personally and professionally through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and genuine caring. Their survey responses got IPM on the list, and they are the people who deserve the praise.”
The Boston Globe partnered with human resources research and consulting firm Energage to survey more than 80,000 employees at 363 companies and tabulate the anonymous responses. Survey questions primarily focused on culture elements such as the company’s values, whether the work is meaningful, caring and supportive management, performance, and confidence in company leaders.
In their survey responses, one of the IPM employees noted, “I am able to learn new things and work on challenging projects. I feel I have an impact on my company and can create positive change that management not only welcomes but encourages. My coworkers are amazing people that I love to spend time with, both in and out of work.”
Energage compares each company’s findings against its proprietary Top Workplaces benchmark, as well as the company’s similarly sized peers: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more. Because only IPM’s Boston employee count could be considered, it was placed in the small company category; it ranked No. 14 out of the 25 companies in the category.
The Boston Globe published the Top Place to Work in its Dec. 5, 2021, edition and in a special online section. This is the news outlet’s 14th annual list.
IPM has been listed among top employers several times by national and local organizations including Inc. magazine, Fortune, Great Place to Work, and Crain’s Chicago Business. As IPM Executive Director of Human Resources Aby Shaughnessy was quoted as saying in an article about bucking the “Great Resignation” in the Top Places to Work section, “IPM doesn’t want to be just like everyone else.”
