The Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) has honored Liz Swanson, a Consultant at Integrated Project Management Company (IPM), with the Rising Star in Change Management Award. The award recognizes an individual with less than five years of experience who is already making a powerful impact.
Swanson, who joined IPM in October 2020, uses time-tested and innovative change management techniques on client projects. A client sponsor who Swanson supported on a large change initiative told IPM, “In the past, it felt like we were being dictated to. This feels different. This feels like we are involved in the process—we are partners in this.”
On top of her client work, Swanson serves as one of the leaders of IPM’s Change Management Center of Excellence, which develops services and strategies for clients and trains consultants on best practices. She was selected to lead one of the company’s most visible and impactful projects, where she gained the trust of executive leadership and implemented the tools and approaches the Center of Excellence had been developing.
“We’re proud of Liz and agree that she’s a rising star,” says IPM President and CEO C. Richard Panico. “It’s gratifying when an organization validates the leadership and positive influence our consultants bring to our clients and to our own company.”
The recognition is part of ACMP’s inaugural Change Excellence Awards, which honored winners in five categories: Change Management Organization of the Year, Global Volunteer of the Year, Chapter Volunteer of the Year, Change for Good, and Rising Star. The organization notes that the program celebrates excellence in driving transformation, building capability, and making a lasting impact across the industries and communities. ACMP says that these are the first international awards dedicated to change management practitioners regardless of methodology or affiliation.
