Integrated Project Management Company, Inc. (IPM) Chief Financial Officer Timothy J. Czech was named Chicago CFO of the Year at the Financial Executives International (FEI) 10th Anniversary awards event.
The FEI Chicago Chapter’s CFO of the Year Awards honor senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to a business or non-profit in the Chicago area. Recipients are selected from a group of finalists, and awards are presented in public, private, and not-for-profit categories. Czech was honored in the mid-size private company category.
“We at IPM know Tim as not only an exceptional financial and administrative leader, but also as a strong advocate of our values-based culture and high quality standards,” says C. Richard Panico, IPM President and Chief Executive Officer. “I’m pleased to see him recognized for his passionate and engaging leadership style and analytical mindset, especially as it comes from his peers.”
In presenting the award, FEI Chicago noted Czech’s contribution to IPM’s high performance, financial growth, and focus on continuous improvement. His analytical mindset and ability to identify and improve key performance indicators has enabled faster, data-driven business decisions and contributed to the company’s achievement of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
For his part, Czech credits his colleagues for the recognition. “This award is really about our company’s growth and success over the years,” he says. “So really what I want to do is thank each and every IPM employee—for caring so much, for such hard work. Everything we accomplish wouldn’t be possible without them.”
Czech started at IPM as an intern before graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Accounting. He earned his CPA shortly after graduation. Czech has had hands-on involvement with every financial role at IPM, from Accounting Manager to Chief Financial Officer, a role he assumed in 2015. He also oversees all Corporate, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, and Communications and Creative Services groups. Since 2014, Czech has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois.
