Christmas is a special time for the Integrated Project Management family. Recognizing there will be children without presents brought out an extra dose of generosity during IPM’s fourth-quarter Integrated Project Mercy effort centered on providing holiday joy to underprivileged families.
“For me, this was a good reminder of a childhood tradition,” says Stacy Heuer, a project management consultant who works out of IPM’s St. Louis office. “Every year before the holidays, my brother and I sorted through toys and set aside items to be donated for children who were not as fortunate as we were. This was as much a Christmas ritual as putting up the tree.”
Heuer joined the St. Louis team and their families to write letters and pack shoeboxes containing toys, school supplies, and hygiene items to send to underprivileged children around the world by Operation Christmas Child. Teams in the Chicago headquarters as well as the San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New Jersey offices also gathered to shop, wrap presents, and pack boxes for the program.
In Minneapolis, IPMers worked on behalf of Angel Tree Ministries, a prison fellowship that provides Christmas gifts to the children of incarcerated parents. They shopped and wrapped presents for three families and joined them for a party that included treats and a visit from Santa.
The Boston office partnered with the Cambridge Family and Children’s Service, which provides adoption, foster care, services for at-risk families, and residential programs for the developmentally disabled. The team donated gifts and helped sort gift cards, wrap presents, paint, and do yardwork at a girls’ residence home, where they also hosted a gingerbread house-making party.
