      Challenge A major urban medical center acquired 28,000 sq. ft. of vacant space and needed a plan to reallocate, renovate, and reprogram the area. It also required a solid project cost estimate to secure funding.

      Approach IPM led a team including the facilities group’s construction managers, architects, and engineers to create a detailed plan and cost estimate and then orchestrated the development of a sequencing plan for the moves and construction.

      Results The final plan for the 28,000 sq. ft. consisted of 23 relocations with a robust cost estimate of $9.3M. The accuracy of the plan enabled the medical center to implement the work on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption to patients and staff.
